I’m an artist based in Ardnamurchan, a remote, almost hidden part of Scotland’s west coast.

I live on the edge of Loch Sunart, amidst Corbetts, glens and lochs and not too far from the open sea and Ardnamurchan Lighthouse – the most westerly point of the British mainland.

Living in these wild and rugged surroundings, the ever-changing weather brings a unique quality of light that washes over the landscape. It does rain rather a lot here, but that only adds to the atmosphere, thankfully though the weather does not hang around – it passes through!

It’s this light and atmosphere that inspires me to paint. I try to make sense of it through mark-making and by developing a painterly language of my own.
